Weight Loss Motivation

How many times have you failed in your life? How many times have you been told you can’t do something, or feel not valued at the place that you go to work? For many of us, life can be very tricky, as we figure out our purpose and try to climb over the obstacles that are set before us. One of the biggest obstacles that people face is the feeling they have over the way they look and feel.

It is no surprise that there is a huge weight problem facing the world today. With the rise of fast food, and the ability to get greasy food everywhere at a cheap price, the size of our bodies has been growing. Also with technology being what it is, and the ability to always have fun sitting down and playing or using our smart devices, there is not much physical activity happening.

One of the main reasons people struggle with their weight is because of the media. The media showcases these beautiful people, with their shirts off, looking incredible, and we strive to look and feel like that. We are quick to judge our appearance and many of us feel bad about the way we look. So how can we lift your weight loss motivation? Here are some steps to feel good about who you are and the way you look.

Love yourself NOW: Weight Loss Motivation

This next section may be hard for some of you to hear but it is the truth. If you do not love yourself, you are not going to lose the weight. This is the truth. Losing weight is such a mental game as well as a physical activity, and you need to believe you can lose the weight and praise yourself for who you are in the present in order to transition to a healthier body in the future. You may look at the weight you are right now with such negativity, but we want you to try and change that.

One exercise that we recommend is go look in the mirror, clothed or unclothed, and find something that you love about the way you look. This may sound pretty dramatic, but trust us when we say it actually works. Take some time and do this, and learn to love that part of yourself.

We think self-love is so important, and the way to really motivate yourself is through positive energy around yourself. If you approach your weight loss with so much negativity, it just is not going to work for you, and you will find the results greatly diminish. Learn to love yourself  now and you will see results begin to start.

Finding what to eat

One of the hardest motivators is finding a reason to eat healthy, because quite honestly, and we understand this, eating healthy just does not taste as good as eating bad. If you are like us, you are probably addicted to sugary treats and salty snacks because they taste amazing. Again, this is a mindset and there are plenty of incredible healthy foods that still provide a lot of flavor for you, it is all about finding the ones that work, and being motivated to actually cook at home. Surprise yourself and try cooking, you will be shocked at how good you become with just a bit of practice.

What are you racing toward?

Setting goals is probably the most important thing to do in all walks of your life. Without goals set forward, you may find that you are hardly striving towards anything. This is why we recommend first starting out with smaller goals so you feel a lot more motivated to keep going.

This can be as simple as “I am not going to eat ice cream this week,” or “I am going to work out 3 nights this week.” These goals you can accomplish and we find too many people set overwhelming goals like “lose 50 pounds this month,” which may not be entirely realistic and may de-motivate you if you do not accomplish them. Keep accomplishing smaller goals, and that will lead to the bigger goal that you will feel completely motivated for. We wish you the best in your weight loss journey!
